See the threat before it reaches the fence line.
A dual-camera security drone built for South African farms and private rural property — stock theft prevention, perimeter monitoring, and livestock and predator detection, day or night light conditions permitting. Fully assembled, tested, and ready to deploy.
Why Farmers Are Adding Aerial Coverage
Stock theft and fence breaches happen after dark. Ground patrols can’t cover the whole perimeter.
Rural crime on South African farms is concentrated in the hours ground security is weakest — unlit boundaries, unmanned fence lines, and grazing camps too far from the homestead to patrol on foot. An aerial camera platform gives you eyes over the whole property in minutes, spotting movement and heat sources through darkness and light cover before a threat reaches livestock, equipment or the house.
Stock Theft Deterrence
Launch and scan grazing camps and boundary fences on demand. People and vehicles are visible from the air long before they’re within torchlight range on the ground.
Livestock & Predator Detection
Locate strayed or injured animals fast, and identify predator activity near a herd — without walking the veld yourself in poor visibility.
Perimeter & Fence-Line Monitoring
Fly a boundary sweep in the time it takes to drive it. A dual video feed gives you a standard reference view alongside an enhanced detection view.

Legal Requirements & SACAA Compliance — South Africa
This platform is a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) under Part 101 of the Civil Aviation Regulations. It is your responsibility as the operator to fly within the law. This section is a plain-language summary, not legal advice — confirm current rules with the SACAA before operating.
Night flying is restricted. Standard private and commercial RPAS operation in South Africa is permitted during daylight hours only. Operating this aircraft after dark — including for security patrols — requires prior special authorisation from the SACAA. Onboard illumination and enhanced-detection cameras are sensors, not a licence to fly at night.
Private Rural Use
Flown strictly for your own security on property you own or control, with no payment or commercial gain involved, private operation generally does not require RPAS registration or a Remote Pilot Licence — but every operating rule below still applies.
Visual Line of Sight
The pilot must keep the aircraft within direct, unaided visual contact at all times. Flying beyond what you can see and manage safely is not permitted without SACAA approval.
Altitude Limit
Maximum 400 ft (≈120m) above ground level, unless approved otherwise by the Director of Civil Aviation.
Standoff Distance
Stay at least 50m from people, vehicles, animals and any property you don’t have permission to fly over — including your neighbour’s land and public roads.
Restricted Airspace
No flying within 10km of an airport or aerodrome, and no flying over national parks or other prohibited zones, without explicit clearance.
Commercial / Paid Services
Using this aircraft to provide surveillance or security services to a third party for payment is commercial operation. That requires a Remote Pilot Licence (RPL), an RPAS Operator Certificate (ROC), and full Part 101 compliance — this package does not include that certification.
Limitation of Liability: notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this quotation or any associated agreement, in the event of any loss, damage, failure, breach or legal claim of any nature arising from or related to the services, hardware supplied, assembly or operation of this aircraft, AgriTrader SA’s maximum cumulative financial liability shall not exceed the total quoted value of the package purchased (R24,950 for this option). Liability does not extend to indirect, special or consequential damages, operational downtime, or loss of third-party equipment. The buyer is solely responsible for registering, licensing and operating the aircraft in accordance with SACAA regulations and all other applicable South African law, including privacy and property law relevant to aerial surveillance of neighbouring land.
Common Questions
Before you request a quote
Can I fly this at night for farm security?
Not under a standard private or commercial operation without special SACAA authorisation — see the compliance section above. The dual-camera payload is designed to make the most of legal daylight, twilight and dawn/dusk windows, and to give you a fast, informed response to overnight incidents once you’re cleared to fly.

Do I need a Remote Pilot Licence to use this on my own farm?
For private, unpaid use on property you own or control, generally no — but you still must observe visual-line-of-sight, altitude, distance and airspace rules. If you plan to offer patrols as a paid service to other landowners, that’s commercial operation and requires RPL/ROC certification.
What’s the difference between the two cameras?
The primary camera with built-in searchlights gives you a lit, identifiable video feed at close range. The secondary stabilised camera detects heat and movement — people, animals, running vehicle engines — through darkness and light bush cover, independent of ambient light.
How far can the ground station control the aircraft?
The control and video link is built for long-range operation, but SACAA visual-line-of-sight rules mean your legal operating range is limited to what the pilot can see and safely manage — not the link’s technical maximum.
What’s included in the price?
The complete flight platform, ground control station, dual-camera payload, full assembly and tuning labour, and import/customs handling. Batteries and chargers are excluded and supplied by the client or quoted separately on request.
